Here at the university we offer one solo degree course entitled 'Theoretical and Practical Knowledge in SWAT 4'. The course lasts 3 years and thoroughly examines your knowledge of all aspects in the game. Here is a brief overview of what the course entails:
YEAR 1
This year counts for 10% of your overall degree grade. You will be taught the basic tactics, tips and tricks of every major game mode - VIP, Rapid Deployment and Barricaded Suspects. It is a very theory-based year; you never actually play SWAT during this year. You are recommended to buy the SWAT Book of Spawns for €50 which is a comprehensive guide on how to control spawn points in each game mode, as well as special nading techniques and the use of breached doors.
YEAR 2
Our students list this as their favourite year - no surprises there as this is a 100% practical year of study. Each day of study includes at least 5 hours of playing and honing your skills in SWAT, and you will be examined overall by playing a 2v2 BS war (your partner will be your tutor), a 5v5 war in VIP (all your team mates and enemies will be people on your course) and also a 5v5 war in RD. To ensure fair gameplay, the wars will be LAN-based on PCs of equal specification. This year counts for 30% of your overall degree.
YEAR 3
This year counts for 60% of your degree and is hence the most difficult. You will be asked to prepare a 30,000 word report on a subject of your choice, that is related to SWAT. Common topics chosen by past students include:
The SWAT 4 Community - the SWAT clans and their reputations, famous clan jumpers etc
UAC - the pros and cons of the anti-cheat, including discussion on how it can be bypassed
Mods and .inis - an in-depth analysis of the mods in SWAT, as well as the various .ini modifications
If you complete the course and achieve atleast a 50% grade, you will receive graduation!
